The Grand Annex Music Hall is San Pedro's premier intimate listening room, a 150-seat cabaret-style theater at 434 W. 6th Street operated by the Grand Vision Foundation, a nonprofit organization that also serves as the Friends Group to the historic Warner Grand Theatre down the street. Launched in 2008, the Annex sits at the heart of San Pedro's thriving arts district and has earned a reputation throughout the Harbor Area and South Bay as the place to experience world-class acoustic music in an unusually personal setting. Cabaret tables, a beer and wine bar, and state-of-the-art sound design create an atmosphere that regulars describe as like being invited to someone's private party. The concert series programs nationally and regionally recognized artists across Americana, rock, jazz, folk, blues, and global music traditions, with most shows running on Friday and Saturday evenings in the fall, winter, and spring. The second Thursday of each month hosts an open mic night: sign-ups begin at 6:30pm, the first twelve performers are guaranteed a slot, and the two-song format is open to musicians and poets. Independent organizers also rent the space for productions of their own, which means the calendar carries a broad variety of programming beyond the Grand Vision-produced series. Proceeds from Annex concerts support Grand Vision's Meet the Music elementary school education program, serving over 2,000 students, and the Love the Lobby Campaign to restore the Warner Grand's historic main lobby. For music fans in the South Bay and Harbor Area who want to hear exceptional live performances in a room where every seat is genuinely good, the Grand Annex is one of the most rewarding experiences in Los Angeles County. Tickets are required for all attendees of all ages; tables are sold as packages of four seats.
